Support is provided to journalists, including citizen journalists, bloggers, broadcasters, photojournalists, cartoonists, fact-checkers, and news outlets, when they face legal action due to their reporting. Funding for legal defense and assistance in finding legal representation are offered, along with technical legal support for defense lawyers. Assistance is also available for initiating legal action to compel the state to protect violated rights, investigate abuses, and hold perpetrators accountable.
