Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE)

“Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) is a Canadian organization founded in 1981 that works to defend and protect the right to free expression in Canada and around the world. Our mission CJFE champions free expression, including freedom of the press and access to information, in Canada and abroad, as a fundamental pillar of democracy. Our history CJFE was created in response to the large scale killings and kidnappings of journalists in Latin America in the late 1970s. Today, we are a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Toronto, Canada, with a 15-person Board of Directors.”
